Plaza Lucent reimagines Le Corbusier’s Plan Voisin around human-scale public life.

Plaza Lucent will take inspiration from many reinterpretations of Plan Voisin and Corbusian urban and residential planning. From the faithful evolutions, it inherits the belief that greenery and open space are essential to urban life. From the critical reactions, it takes its strongest lessons, that public space must be activated through cultural life and that sustainability is inseparable from design.

Most importantly, Plaza Lucent departs from all these precedents by placing the critique of faux-plazas at its core.

To make Plaza Lucent distinct from other reinterpretations, it will still be based loosely on the original Plan Voisin, featuring the iconic cruciform towers.
